This series is ideal for the intermediate to advanced mariachi ensemble.  Each level includes hundreds of scale exercises targeting different rhythms.  Each exercise includes an optional armonía part to help students become familiar with the various chord progressions.  Each level includes more than twenty mariachi styles in both major and minor keys. This series compiles the Major and Harmonic Minor Scale Studies and groups the keys according to the Progressive Armonía Studies Ensemble Series levels.

 

Progressive Armonía Studies Scales Level 1 Major Score

This book compiles the scores to the scale studies of the targeted keys of G, D, and A Major from the Progressive Armonia Studies Level 1 book in one resource.  Each major key is a collection of 115 different scale exercises for the mariachi ensemble.  The score includes violin, trumpet, harp, armonía, and guitarron parts.  The collection starts in the time signature of 4/4 followed by 3/4 and ends with scales in 2/4.  Scales include rhythms in whole notes, half notes, dotted half notes, quarter notes, dotted quarter notes, eighth notes, dotted eighth notes, sixteenth notes, quarter notes, eighth note triplets, and syncopated patterns in each time signature.  Several scale studies in 3rd position and a few require shifting for the violin to target those skills.  For the mariachi ensemble, the armonia has accompaniment in lenta, bolero, bolero ritmico, bolero ranchero, danzon, valseada, son, huapango, son variation, joropo, joropo variation, son jarocho, cumbia, cumbia variation, and corrida.   An optional armonía part is included for the students who are still learning how to switch from chord to chord.
