This series is ideal for the beginner mariachi ensemble regardless of the age at which the students may start. Each level includes exercises appropriate for students starting to learn the various instruments of the mariachi ensemble. The exercises progressively become more challenging with the end goal of performing the various mariachi styles in the various keys at each level. These mariachi classroom resources were created by Carlos Maldonado.
Progressive Armonía Studies Ensemble Level 1 Harp
The Progressive Armonía Studies Level 1 Harp book uses a simple, tried and true progressive approach to start the student in learning how to play the harp for the mariachi ensemble. The book focuses on the standard keys of G, D, and A Major. The exercises go from simple to complex with the student ultimately studying the mariachi styles of ranchers lenta, ranchers valseada, bolero, cumbia, polka, son jalisciense, and the huapango. Basic knowledge of music elements is required to start and the guidance of a mentor is recommended to be successful using this amazing resource.
Progressive Armonía Studies Ensemble Level 2 Harp
The Progressive Armonía Studies Level 2 Harp book uses a simple, tried and true progressive approach to start the student in learning how to play the harp for the mariachi ensemble. The book focuses on the standard keys of E, and C Major as well as common minor keys in mariachi repertoire. The exercises go from simple to complex with the student ultimately studying the previously learned mariachi styles from Level 1 and the mariachi styles of focus in this book: son variation, joropo, bolero ritmico, danzon, bolero ranchero, and ranchers lenta variation. Basic knowledge of music elements is required to start and the guidance of a mentor is recommended to be successful using this amazing resource.
